DT: Fantastic Beasts - October 2026
The children enjoyed exploring cams and mechanisms in DT, inspired by their Fantastic Beasts topic. They investigated how rotary movement can be changed into up-and-down movement, experimenting with different cam shapes to bring their magical creatures to life. This helped them develop their understanding of mechanical systems and prepare for designing their own moving models.
History: Windrush - September 2026
The children took part in a Windrush Sticky Learning sorting activity, using their historical knowledge to organise key facts and events into different categories. They worked collaboratively to recall previous learning, discuss their ideas and strengthen their understanding of the Windrush Generation and its lasting impact on Britain.
Geography: Trade - September 2026
The children enjoyed taking part in an exciting Geography Trading Game, exploring how countries trade goods and resources with one another. Through teamwork, negotiation and problem-solving, they developed their understanding of global trade, the importance of resources and how trade can be fair or unfair.
